Tricabendazole Tablets 900mg
Therapeutic indications:
Triclabendazole is a highly effective fluid cide for treatment and control of acute and chronic fascioliasis in cattle. Its outstanding efficacy is demonstrated by its lethal action on early immature, immature and adult stages of fasciola hepatica and Fgigantica.
Dosage & Administration:
Like other anthelmintics a bolus can be administered per OS by hand balling gun or crushed mixed with water and drenched. The recommended dosage is 12 mg triclabendazole per kg body weight. Dosing guide is as follows:
Calves
Adult cattle
70 to 75kg b.w........................1 bolus
75 to 150kg b.w......................2 boli
150kg to 225kg b.w................3 boli
Up to 300kg............................4 boli
Dosage is increased over 300kg by one bolus for every additional 75kg body weight. Cattle grazing in fields contaminated with fluke eggs should be regularly treated every 8-10 weeks, soon following diagnosis of sub-acute or acutrinfestation. Dosing of the entire herd is recommended.
Side-effects:
Triclabendazole is very safe anthelmintic, which can be administered to stressed, sick or debilitated cattle of all ages. It can be used to treat pregnant cows. No contraindications are reported.
Precautions:
Wash hands after use.
Avoid contamination of ponds & water ways.
Withdrawal period: Meat 28 days, milk 7-10 days.
