PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Pharmacodynamics This product is an imidazothiazole antinematode, which is active against most nematodes in cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and chickens. Its anthelmintic mechanism is to excite the parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglia of the worm, which exhibits a nicotinic effect; at high concentrations, tetramisole interferes with the carbohydrate metabolism of the nematode by blocking the reduction of fumaric acid and the oxidation of succinate, and ultimately paralyzes the worm. The role of live worms to discharge.
In addition to its anthelmintic activity, this product can also significantly improve the immune response. It can restore the cell-mediated immune function of peripheral T lymphocytes, excite the phagocytosis of monocytes, and have a more obvious effect on animals with impaired immune function.
Pharmacokinetics This product can be absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration. After absorption, it can be distributed throughout the body. Most of it is metabolized in the liver and kidneys. The metabolites are mainly excreted in urine. Less than 6% are excreted in their original form, and a small amount is excreted in feces. The plasma half-lives are 4 to 6 hours for cattle, 3 to 4 hours for sheep, 3.5 to 6.8 hours for pigs, and 1.8 to 4 hours for dogs.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
(1) Drugs with nicotinic effects such as pyrantel, methapyrimidine, ethamazine, cholinesterase inhibitors such as organophosphorus and neostigmine can increase the toxicity of levamisole and should not be used in combination.
(2) Levamisole can enhance the immune response and effect of Brucella vaccines.
INDICATIONS:
Anti-worm medicine. Mainy used for gastrointestinal nematodes, lung nematodes and swine nephrosis in cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats, and poultry.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Oral administration: One dose, per 10kg body weight, 0.3 tablets for cattle, sheep, and pigs; 0.3 tablets for dogs and cats; 1 tablet for poultry.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
(1) This product for cattle may cause symptoms of parasympathetic nerve excitement, foam or salivation in the mouth and nose, excitement or tremor, lip licking, and head shaking. Symptoms generally subside within 2 hours.
(2) Sheep can cause temporary excitement after administration, and goats can produce depression, hyperesthesia and salivation.
(3) Pigs can cause salivation or foam in the nose and mouth.
(4) Dogs can see gastrointestinal disorders such as vomiting and diarrhea, neurotoxic reactions such as gasping, head shaking, anxiety or other behavioral changes, agranulocytosis, pulmonary edema, immune-mediated rash, etc.
(5) Cats can see salivation, excitement, dilated pupils, and vomiting.
PRECAUTIONS:
(1) Prohibited for animals during lactation.
(2) Horses and camels are more sensitive. Camels are forbidden. Horses should be used with caution.
(3) Animals with extreme weakness or severe liver and kidney damage should be used with caution. Cows that cause stress reactions such as vaccination, dehorning or castration should be used with caution or postponed.
(4) Atropine detoxification and other symptomatic treatments can be used when this product is poisoned.
