DESCRIPTION
Colistin sulphate + Doxycycline Hydrochloride 20% WS is a synergistic combination of two antibiotics which is indicated for prevention and treatment of diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as rickettsia, mycoplasmas, chlamydia, actinomyces and some protozoa. Colistin is a cyclic polypeptide antibiotic and has a bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria such as, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Colistin sulphate is hardly absorbed after oral administration and remains active in the gastrointestinal tract for treatment of bowel infections.
The combination of both antibiotics shows excellent synergetic activity against systemic infections, as well as against gastrointestinal infections.
INDICATIONS
Colistin sulphate + Doxycycline Hydrochloride 20% WS is a synergistic combination of two antibiotics which is indicated for prevention and treatment of diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as E.coli, salmonella, fowl cholera, infectious coryza, chronic respiratory disease(CRD), campylobacter and non-specific enteritis. It is indicated for treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, urogenital infections, local inflammations and secondary bacterial infections during viral diseases in calves, lambs, poultry, pigs and pigeons.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals hypersensitive to tetracyclines and/or colistin. Do not administer to animals with an impaired renal function. Do not administer to animals with an active microbial digestion. Do not use in animals producing eggs or milk for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
None.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water.
Poultry : 1 kg per 2,000 liters of drinking water for 4 - 5 days.
Pigs : 1 kg per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 4 - 5 days.
Game birds, pigeons : 0.5 g per liter of drinking water for 4 - 5 days.
Calves, lambs, kids : 1 g per 10 kg body weight, twice daily for 4 - 5 days.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

Meat:
Poultry, Pigs : 7 days
Calves, kids and lambs : 14 days
STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep away from children.
